How it works

Four steps, and you only take the first two.

A Perpetua switch is a small program account that holds your instructions and a set of approvals. Here is exactly what happens, in order.

  1. Set up

Choose who receives what, and how often you will check in.

    • Add heirs by wallet address with a share for each and an optional label such as "Mom". Shares add up to exactly 100%.
    • Choose assets: SOL, tokens and, on the Holder tier, NFTs. For each one you approve the Perpetua program as delegate for an amount you set. Nothing leaves your wallet.
    • Pick a check-in interval of 30, 90, 180, 365 days. Patrons can choose any interval from 7 days to 5 years.
    • Holders can write a private letter for each heir. It is encrypted in your browser before it is stored.
  2. Check in

One signature tells the program you are here.

    • A check-in is a single Perpetua instruction that resets your timer. It costs only the network fee.
    • Any change you sign, such as editing heirs or adding assets, also counts as a check-in.
    • Reminders by email or Telegram arrive 30, 7, 1 days before the deadline. Opt in per switch.
    • You can pause a switch at any time. A paused switch never executes. Resuming starts a fresh interval.
  3. If you stop

Nothing happens at the deadline. A 7-day grace period begins.

    • During the 7 days of grace you can still check in, and reminders continue.
    • You can check in even after grace ends, up to the moment execution starts.
    • Once interval and grace have both passed, the switch becomes executable. The program enforces this to the second.
  4. Heirs receive

Execution sends each heir their share, directly to their wallet.

    • Our keeper runs execution on a schedule. It is permissionless, so anyone else can run it too.
    • The program moves each approved asset, takes the 0.5% execution fee into the treasury, and splits the rest by the shares you set.
    • Heirs need nothing to receive. Their token accounts are created for them. SOL arrives as native SOL.
    • If an asset was spent or its approval changed, that asset is skipped and everything else is still delivered. Letters open for each heir once execution has started.

Ready when you are. Setting up takes a few minutes.
